Our Founders
Daniel Betty & Allanah Scott
Daniel and Allanah are the founders of DREAM BIG. They have four children and work hard to ensure the path they walk inspires them to be the best they can be.
Daniel is the Creative Director for Dream Big, a Producer at Kōtiri Productions, owner of No8 Studios and Manager of the Kahurangi Toi Ātea, National Screen Industry Training Programme.
Allanah Scott is an anaesthetist at the Hawke’s Bay Hospital, works privately at Royston and one of the founding clinicians for Kaweka Hospital.
They currently reside in Te Matau-a-Maui, Hawke’s Bay and travel to support their roles.
Our guiding principles help to shape all projects, productions and how we engage with the community.
Auaha - Create
Creativity thrives when it is inspired, encouraged and supported. We believe in creative thinking to be bold, to dream and build confidence in achieving strategic outcomes.
Whakahau - Inspire
We believe in creating performances that inspire and engage audiences with a strong social message. We listen to social trends and evolve our work to ensure we are relevant across generations.
Mātauranga - Educate
Education enables everyone to establish a baseline for learning. We guide people to find what it is that ignites them to strive to be better.
Tautoko - Support
Mentoring and supporting creatives across the sector builds the eco-system to be stronger. We work with a diverse range of creatives from a broad background and support them infinitely.
Rangapū - Partnerships
Partnerships are central to Dream Big as the support we receive ensures that our creatives thrive. We have built a number of local, national and international partnerships to support creatives.
Rauemi- Resource
Resources enable creatives to create high quality outcomes. We work on a collective impact model where we aim to share resources to build our creative sector.
